It was Danny’s 30th birthday last week and to celebrate I booked a surprise trip to Dublin!
He had always wanted to go and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together. My parents looked after Thea whilst we were away and our great friends Charlotte and Glen booked to go the same weekend so we could have some great company.
It was amazing! It was just what we needed, we had great fun. It was so much better because they came out too and I could tell Danny really enjoyed it.
We visited a couple of places like the Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Whiskey Distillery and Jameson Distillery. The weather was really crappy and rainy but we managed. We used the tram a lot!
I was really nervous about leaving Thea especially as I am still breastfeeding, luckily I had offered her a couple of bottles of expressed milk early on so she takes the bottle really well. I had managed to express some milk and I also managed to get safe donor milk so I knew she would be fine. Mum kept me updated on how she was doing and I got lots of photos that made me feel so good to know she was having a great time.
I went to pump on the first day after getting off the plane and came to realise that I had forgotten the most important part of the pump (the little white valve) So our first trip was to Argos to get a new pump (ooopsie!) I took my breast pump everywhere with me and was pumping every 3-4 hours as I would get really uncomfortable.
We really enjoyed it and only spent 2 nights there but it was definitely worth it and would love to go back again!
